IAEA is a one-year career training program operated as a service independently by BRC Audio Productions, without affiliation with any other educational institution, and is generally intended for individuals who have graduated high school. IAEA is similar to college in that there are courses and projects to complete, while also being similar to an apprenticeship in that students may take part in a great number of professional BRC activities.
-
The IAEA program consists of 13 courses over three terms, with lab time and activities functioning as course components. All components of the program are mandatory.
-
IAEA is 100% in-person. Since so much of the audio engineering trade involves physical activity and equipment, we believe the best way to teach it is through hands-on and tangible training. Daily activities take place BRC Audio Productions and off-site scheduled events take place at designated locations.
-
Each of our faculty has been an active professional of the audio/music industry in various ways for at least ten years, and has been an active educator for years as well. Our backgrounds as educators range from graduate college pedagogical studies, to years of private instruction, to years of teaching the IAEA program itself.
-
We take on students of various backgrounds, ranging from fresh high school graduates to people looking for a change from a previous career.
Students at different points in life may be looking for different things from school. While IAEA does have a curriculum, set sequence of courses and defined outcome which applies to all students, our high teacher-to-student ratio allows us to spend all the time you need on an individual basis to help you achieve your unique goals.
-
The IAEA program is conducted over three terms: Spring (January-April), Summer (May-August), and Fall (September-December).
You may start on any of these terms. Students starting in January will graduate in December, students starting in May will graduate in April, etc.
-
Our program is perfect for beginners as well as people with prior experience.
-
Other than a $11 book (and a pencil and notebook, of course), all materials and technology you'll need is on-site. All IAEA activities are intended to be done at the BRC premises.

All of these topics are addressed in the IAEA Program Catalog, which you can access once submitting our online contact form.
