IAEA FACULTY

In addition to taking the IAEA program himself, William Crain earned his Bachelor in Music Performance with a focus on Jazz and studio music and Masters of Arts in Music with focuses on audio engineering, electronic music composition, and higher education at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory. Will’s most recent recording credits include two upcoming albums from the Benedictines of Mary: Queen of Apostles, the Kansas City Jazz Orchestra’s “In The Key of KC” (2023), the premiere recording of “Hours” by Cecil Price Walden commissioned by Texas Tech University, and Christopher Burnett’s “Originals” (2024). Will also has an extensive musical background as a pianist/keyboardist and continues to perform professionally. As Program Director of IAEA, Will passionately leads our continuing effort to train the newest generations of audio professionals.

A 25-year veteran of the music industry, Matt Kosinski began as a musician and instrument repair tech and quickly expanded into the world of professional audio engineering. Throughout his career Matt has not only experienced countless avenues of live sound from private parties to music festivals, but produced numerous musical artists and taken on various managerial roles as well. Matt brings an enthusiastic energy and genuine love of all things music and sound to the IAEA educational experience.

Zack Hames

Since his graduation from IAEA in 2014, Zack Hames has forged a successful career in the competitive industry of commercial post-production sound design and composition, with clients including Garmin, Sporting KC, Bayer, the Indiana Lottery, and more. Zack has additionally produced and recorded dozens of records for a wide variety of musical artists and has also performed in various musical acts. Zack has most recently produced and engineered releases from The Highwater, Kat King, and Lava Dreams. Zack’s unique perspectives as a former IAEA student, musician, and industry professional give him a dynamic approach to audio training that is deeply attuned to the continual evolution of the industry.

Steve Lewis

Instructor, IAEA

Steve Lewis has contributed tremendously to the Midwest music scene as a conductor, composer, French hornist, educator, repair technician, the founder of Legacy Horn Experience, and former musical director of the Midwest Chamber Ensemble - which, under his leadership, recorded three highly ambitious albums. Steve received his training at the European American Musical Alliance in Paris, France, the University of Missouri Kansas City Conservatory, and East Carolina University. Steve delivers a valuable perspective to IAEA students drawing on his diverse industry experiences.
